The Fund needed MCF’s help with financing in order to raise enough money to purchase two farms. In 2000 Monmouth Conservation Foundation awarded a grant of $7,500 to the Fund for Roosevelt to help it pay for options to purchase these two farms, which are important to the preservation of Roosevelt’s historic landscape.
In 2001, MCF guaranteed a loan in the amount of $300,000, for a period of one year, giving the Fund an opportunity to buy and sell both farms to a conservation buyer with the development rights restricted.
