Wenzel Property

Marlboro
Completed in 2002, 3 acres

The property contains a residential home, which is bordered on the east by the old Conrail-Central rail line and on the west by Route 79. This abandoned rail line has been identified by the Monmouth County Park System as a rail to trail connective corridor to link the popular Henry Hudson Trail, which runs across the northern portion of the County, to a southern extension that will end in Freehold.

In addition to the property’s location along the rail line, it is also important because it fronts along Route 79 and is viewed as an essential access intersection for trail users. The property was purchased by Monmouth Conservation Foundation in March of 2002 and transferred to the County Park System in August of that same year.
