THE FIELD TO FARM PROJECT

Monmouth County boasts some of the best farmland soils in the state of New Jersey. Uniquely situated between New York City and Philadelphia, the geography provides excellent market opportunities for farms. However, over the past few decades, intense residential and commercial real estate development has pushed land values sky high, causing many families to sell their family farms. Despite this development, farms do remain and MCF continues its’ mission to preserve them.

The Field to Farm Project is about connecting farmers with the right people and resources in their community to transfer their farms to the next generation of farmers. Helping farm businesses thrive is another way of ensuring the integrity and the existence of the farm, saving it from ever being developed.
