Carbon dioxide is the leading greenhouse gas impacting our changing climate. Plants have the power to absorb carbon dioxide naturally through photosynthesis. The more plants, the more carbon dioxide that can be absorbed. You can help increase the amount of carbon dioxide that is absorbed and help the climate by planting a garden or tree.
Your challenge: Plant a garden to grow vegetables, flowers, or herbs at your home. Your garden can be as big or small as you would like and include whatever you want to grow. You can start a garden on a window sill until it’s warm enough to plant your seeds outside after the last front in the middle of May. To start your seeds, use recycled containers for added impact. For example, you can use an empty yogurt or strawberry container to start seeds by filling it with soil and putting holes in the bottom to allow water to drain. You may also choose to plant a tree in your yard. For your video, show us the seeds or tree you planted and your plans for taking care of it as it grows.
